R&D and hardware prototyping: from idea to something you can hold in your hand

In-house prototyping lab in Romania (EU): schematic, PCB, firmware, enclosure, testing. You get a demonstrable working prototype and a technical report you can use for a decision, for funding or for production.

Stunner provides outsourced research and development for companies that need a device, a system or a proof of concept the market does not offer. The in-house lab covers electronics, embedded firmware, simple mechanics and software integration; the same engineers take the prototype to small series.

Mechanics & enclosures

3D-printed enclosures, sensor mounting, power, wiring; preparation for injection moulding when going to series.

Challenge
Zigbee, Z-Wave and IP devices had to be aggregated locally, keep working offline when the internet drops, with encryption and remote updates — without depending on a closed off-the-shelf gateway.
Solution
A gateway designed in our lab: embedded Linux hardware with radio modules, firmware with offline buffering, telemetry encryption, OTA, secure provisioning and native integration with the platform cloud.
Result
The gateway runs in real installations, with OTA updates and no data loss during connectivity outages. The architecture is reused for industrial gateways (Modbus, LoRaWAN).

How long does a prototyping sprint take?

Usually 6–10 weeks from the definition workshop to demo and report: one day of definition, one week of technical planning, 4–8 weeks of build and one week of validation and documentation.

What do I receive at the end?

The working prototype, source code and firmware, schematics and PCB files, a technical report with test results, an estimated BOM for series and recommendations for the next steps.

Can you take the prototype to production?

Yes, to small series in our lab and, for large volumes, with manufacturing partners. We prepare the manufacturing documentation and support conformity assessment with accredited laboratories.

Do you work on funded innovation projects?

Yes. Our deliverables (prototype, technical report, documentation) are designed to be used in funding files and acceptance procedures. We clarify with you from the start what the funder requires.

Can you sign an NDA before we talk?
